Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Card Portfolio Specialist to drive card business growth, portfolio optimization, and product strategy for a leading banking client. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end card portfolio, support new product launches, optimize profitability, and collaborate with business, technology, operations, marketing, and payment scheme partners.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the overall card portfolio with P&L accountability.
Drive customer acquisition, cross-sell initiatives, and portfolio growth.
Plan and execute sales, marketing, and promotional campaigns.
Monitor portfolio performance, approval rates, spend, utilization, pricing, and profitability.
Identify opportunities to improve revenue and reduce operational costs.
Ensure compliance with card scheme regulations and optimize scheme costs.
Coordinate end-to-end card product launches and enhancements.
Build business cases for new products and campaigns.
Lead implementation of payment initiatives including Tokenization and Virtual Cards.
Work with Operations, IT, Marketing, Risk, and Fraud teams to improve customer experience.
Resolve issues related to fraud, chargebacks, transaction declines, and card operations.
Present progress updates to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Proven experience working with cross-functional banking teams.
Experience managing end-to-end card product implementation projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be based in Nairobi, Kenya or willing to work onsite.
